Courses

Here are the club members who are the training team:

Tony Powell. An experienced instrutor who has dived all over the world and provides servicing as well.

Mika Baghammar. Instructor Mika offers a number of individually focussed courses and particularly luxurious holidays for divers.

Neill Philip. Neill is a newly qualified instructor, who together with Tony offers a quality kit servicing facility for club members. He has just completed his IDC inGozo.

Mike D'Mar. Another new Instructor who is looking to take up an instructors position in Spain/Gibralta in 2009, until then he is teaching at the club.

Mark Pressey. One of the club's most experienced Divemasters who has assisted with a vast number of courses.

Phil Packer. A new Divemaster but who has assisted Tony and others with a number of courses.

Shaun Benden, Martin Munday, Phil Packer and Steve Blake. All new Divemasters as of November 2009.

The club have some Divemasters in training, who also work with the instructors plus a large number of Rescue Divers who provide valuable safety cover during trips.

The club instructors offer the full range of PADI diving course up to Assistant Instructor, many Specialty courses, so whatever your interest for example wrecks, photography boat diving etc, it is catered for. Most of all we specialise in providing quality beginners courses through the PADI Open Water Course. This is the foundation upon which all other training is built, get this right and the rest is easy. We believe that investing in the best initial training will help keep people diving safely for years to come.

We can also tailor courses to your own particular need, especially a late decision to learn to dive so you can dive abroad! We have trained loads of people who have left it too late to learn through a shop for a forthcoming holiday, if this is you try us.

Please to discuss your own personal course requirements. We specialise in providing flexibility to suit your needs together with very small class sizes to maximise the benefits to you.

Bespoke training is on request, if you need to qualify quickly, e.g. for a late booked holiday, we can help. We also provide group experiences such as a kids party with a difference; scuba diving, or Cubs/Scout badge work, in fact if water and diving are involved we can usually supply it, the quicker you let us know, the quicker we can help you.

Whoever you decide to learn with, and regardless of whether it is your first steps in diving or your Instructors course please check your instructor is in teaching status (ask to see his/her Instructors card and its status sticker on the rear) and check they have the required insurance to teach you from one of these companies

Finally we are able to provide specialist services such as training stuntmen and women (for stunt register qualification), providing underwater videography for tri-athletes and other swimmers who require more in depth analysis of strokes and turns and much more. POTENTIAL INSTRUCTORS READ THIS... If you are interested in taking on the challenge of becoming a dive instructor we can help. We have an affiliated Course Director and IDC Centre so can offer you the opportunity to progress right to the top. Additionally we can offer EFR Instructor Courses and Specialty Instructor Courses.
You can enter the instructor program at any stage of qualification from complete novice onwards, and we can take you there, even arranging work experience in a dive centre abroad.
