The Scyla

The weekend started well with all persons diving arriving at the bed and breakfast by late evening the accommodation was clean and in a pub which makes for a good start Keith Blight and his party joined the rest of us for a beer on the Friday evening and a plan was put together for the dives on Saturday.

After a good breakfast we set of to meet the skipper of the boat on the pontoon in Mountbatten we discussed with the skipper and all agreed that if possible we would like to dive the Scyla. Dive groups sorted out we kitted up and dropped onto the bow marker vis was very good and it was interesting to see such a new wreck.

After we were dropped of back at Mountbatten the remainder of the group carried out a excellent dive on a reef to the southwest of Plymouth harbour. the group got back together later in the evening where stories were told over a few bevvy's. Sunday brought rain and wind but we were still up to having a go after another fat boy breakfast(Mike D) we made our way to the boat the vis had depreciated over night and the breakers were running high some of the group choose to call it a day the rest of us had a go.

We tried several wrecks but could not get in on any of them due to the weather and vis.We ended up inside the breakwater diving the old fort this choose to be a good dive as we drifted around the base lots of life to look at coral fans'deadmans fingers and starfish if the vis had been better it would make a very good 2nd dive after we exited the water we all agreed to call it a day with that dive it was then back to mount batten de-kit and depart for home every one who went on the trip enjoyed it and would like more of the same.
