Discover Scuba Diving (AKA A Try Dive)

Learning to dive really is easy & fun but if its one of those things that you've always wanted to do but aren't really sure about it then this mini-course is for you: try out diving to make up your mind without major expense and under expert supervision.

Enrole in a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience (also known as a 'Try Dive'), which is conducted in the pool over a two hour session , and learn some of the easy scuba diving skills whilst experiencing the feeling of weightlessness under the water. Under the supervision of one of the clubs PADI instructors you can complete the first module of the full open water course for a small outlay prior to really taking the plunge, metaphorically & financially. At the end of the session you will know how the basic scuba kit operates and how to wear it, how to breath correctly underwater and some diving skills such as clearing your regulator and maintaining neutral buoyancy, in fact actually diving, right from the start.

After completing the Try-Dive if you decide to continue with the full course then this initial experience credits towards the PADI Open Water Diver course!

Interested? if so then e-mail aquaventure the club to arrange a convenient date to start, all you will need is a swimming costume & T shirt to wear in the pool.

The kids can also join in with a formal and recognised snorkeling course from the age of 6 yrs & real diving with the Bubblemakers experience or the full on PADI Seal Team from the age of 8 yrs. These are great experiences for kids and are really recommended.

We tailor each experience to your needs from fun games such as underwater egg and spoon races for the kids to a structured skill development session for those thinking of progressing to the full open water course. Let us know what you want and we will plan and deliver it for you.

This is the tour of what you will do on your course:

1.Learn a little about the main bits of scuba diving equipment

2.Complete a briefing and some easy but important skills under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional

3.Go diving, a full pool session of weightless fun

4.Register your experience with PADI

5.Want to come back for more!

Simply email the club and once the date is confirmed with you, you are ready to go. You wil be sent full details of what will happen on the evening on confirmation.

PLEASE NOTE: The DSD student must be medically fit to dive. This involves completing the PADI Medical Statement which can be downloaded here All questions must be answered YES or NO. If any are answered YES then further medical clearance is required before any in water training takes place. If all questions are a NO then bring the form with you to the session.

We are also offering Scouts and other groups and famillies the opportunity to block book an evening to carry out the try dive together, much more fun. If you are looking to gain the Waterskills Challenge badge in Scouting or simply try it before considering the full course or simply treating someone to an experience with a difference the timing couldn't be better. The price is just £30 per person so what are you waiting for?
