Vobster

Although this quarry situated just outside of Radstock has been a training site for the police and other agencies for many years it is only a recent commercial concern

As far as we are concerned this is a prime site in the SW, negating the long drive to Stoney, that is excellent for students and experienced divers alike. The club have now trained a number of divers here safely from open water divers up to assistant instructors.

The site varies in depth from some shallow training platforms that are well constructed at 6-8 meters to the dark depths at 37mtrs with plenty of interesting features in between.

The air station is state of the art pumping O2 and nitrox as well as air in a jiffy, the shop is adequately stocked for most requirements, including technical stuff and the staff are really helpful.

There is an undercover briefing area with tables and a take away service for drinks and food.

In short there is nothing missing from this site except a variety of fish life. The site have stocked the water with a large number of trout that can be found near the exit point by the shop.

Give it a try, you can't go wrong here, except perhaps finding it for the first time. To help you here is the link to download a map in PDF format:
